Healing is based on repetition. To undo a history of reactions and behavior patterns requires focus and intentional effort. When you make it a conscious goal to transform and apply effort towards healing your reactions, patterns, pain, and suffering, it is only a matter of time until you start seeing results building within. You will not get it right every time but eventually you will have applied enough compassionate, gentle, and patient effort that your new way of living will become second nature to you.
My Experience & Education
My work experience has taken me to rural communities, Native American reservations, secured residential facilities, group homes, and jails throughout California and Oregon for those in need of mental health and substance abuse recovery services. I have been a case manager, recovery specialist, jail diversion and supported housing program manager, community college instructor, trainer and counselor for wildland firefighters and first responders, wilderness guide, and a wellness coach. I have worked with people across the age spectrum from adolescents to elders. My passion for working with people fueled my desire to receive a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Oregon State University. My experience working with community and Tribal mental health agencies since 2000 has helped me understand the deep gift of resilience and healing, which resides within everyone.
My Supervision
I am supervised by the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists and my registered supervisor is Emily Decker, LPC #C5036.
