We all need care and community to thrive, but unfortunately many of us find ourselves living under systems that isolate us from one another and invalidate our humanity. We experience trauma, feel unfulfilled in our relationships, and struggle to exist authentically. I help individuals, couples and groups cope with these realities, while collectively working toward a better world for all people. Many of my clients are queer, neurodivergent, non-monogamous, disabled or chronically ill.
I draw from narrative therapy and humanism in my work. Narrative therapy is all about your stories: the ones you’ve been told, and the ones that are yours to tell. I’ll work with you to understand and reimagine your stories, where they come from, what they mean, and what new stories might be possible. I bring humanism into this work by embracing you as a whole, messy person. I’ll offer empathy and reflection that celebrates your humanity and your innate capacity for growth, healing and connection. I’ll invite you to engage somatically, emotionally and relationally with feelings that come up in the moment and I’ll support you through the tender process of being with your radically authentic self.
I believe that our emotional and relational wellbeing is deeply entwined with our communities and social systems, and I know that most suffering in this world is a product of systemic oppression. My goal as a therapist is to support you as an individual while also building our collective capacity to resist oppression and cultivate liberation for all people. I draw from lineages and theories of abolitionism, disability justice, queer feminism and BIPOC resistance movements in this work. I’m genderqueer, non-monogamous, live with chronic illness, and love being outdoors and growing food. I’m sex positive, disability affirming, neurodiversity affirming, and believe that all people deserve dignity, freedom and to have their basic needs met.
