I’m a relational, collaborative, liberation oriented therapist. My goal is to work with you to create space for growth and change, within the context of your unique experiences, identities and social fabric. I approach therapy with the understanding that emotional and relational wellbeing are deeply entwined with our communities and social systems.
My goal as a therapist is to support individual wellbeing while also building our collective capacity to resist oppression and cultivate liberation that supports the wellbeing of all people. As your therapist, I will invite these beliefs into conversation alongside your beliefs and experiences, as we develop a shared understanding of our work together.
I draw from narrative therapy and humanism in my therapeutic approach. This means that I will invite you to expand, deconstruct and reimagine the narratives that you hold about yourself and the world around you while offering empathy, reflection and guidance that welcome all aspects of you as a whole, messy person. I will invite us to engage somatically, emotionally and relationally with feelings that arise throughout our conversation. During this process, I will try to be transparent about who I am and what I bring into our therapeutic relationship, and welcome any feedback, questions or requests.
I draw from lineages and theories of disability justice, abolitionism, transformative justice, queer feminism and leftist political analysis to explore ways that mental health connects to systemic oppression and liberation. I am genderqueer, live with chronic illness, and love being outdoors, growing food, and having tea with friends. I practice from a disability affirming, neurodiversity affirming, anti-racist, sex positive, sex work positive, queer friendly, nonmonogamy friendly, strengths based perspective.
